The NSW Government is taking a regional approach to pest animal management through the development of regional strategic pest animal management plans.
Major pest animals such as rabbits, carp, pigs, foxes and dogs to name a few are estimated to cost the NSW economy approximately $170 million annually.
The plans will be developed in consultation with stakeholders and the community to ensure strong and responding pest animal risk management, that is outcomes focused andbased on regional priorities.
A regional approach to pest animal management will ensure that pest animal management tools, actions and investments are catered to the needs and impacts experienced in each region.
Anyone who has a concern about pest animal management is encouraged to attend an information session and comment on the draft plan.
The plan will be on public exhibition until Friday 20 April 2018.
