Ag Industry Advisory Committee up and running

Central Tablelands Local Land Services (LLS) Agricultural Industry Advisory Committee held its inaugural meeting in March.

The committee consists of 16 members from across the Central Tablelands region and will meet up to 4 times per year.

The Central Tablelands Agriculture Industry Advisory Committee has been established to represent the agriculture sector views and provide advice to the Central Tablelands LLS Board throughout the year about topical and relevant issues.

The committee has a diverse amount of practical knowledge and expertise about a wide range of primary industries including sheep, beef, cropping, irrigation, bee keeping, feed lotting, agronomy, wine grape and fruit growing.

Peter Sparkes, Central Tablelands LLS General Manager said that "the committee is an important link between our farming customers and the Board and Management of our organisation.

It has been formed to bring relevant local issues to the table with the aim of ensuring all our primary industries are represented by LLS and have the opportunity to grow stronger with support from our organisation".

In the first meeting the committee provided input into the LLS's draft strategic plan. This important feedback will give the plan a stronger focus on primary production industries, as well as recognising the importance of working with their urban counterparts.

"We look forward to working with the committee in the future to help build an organisation that delivers the services that our customers want" said Ian Rogan, Central Tablelands Board Member.

Central Tablelands LLS encourages people to drop into their nearest office or to call Julie Reynolds on 6378 1706 if they would like more information on their local committee representatives.
