Funding now available for farm projects

The Hon Ian Armstrong, Chairman of Central Tablelands Local Land Services (LLS) today announced the availability of funding for farm projects across the region.
Funding opportunities are available now through Central Tablelands LLS to assist farmers, landholders, and community groups such as Local Councils, Landcare Groups and Indigenous groups to adopt sustainable land management practices.
"We know that farmers place a high importance on improving the health and productivity of their land. It is great to be able to offer help with funding for projects that many farmers have been considering", said The Hon Mr Armstrong.
Funding is available for farmers across the Central Tablelands who would like to improve the health and biodiversity of their farms. The types of on farm projects that will be funded include riparian projects, remnant woodland conservation and farm planning.
Funding to restore and protect our creeks and rivers will assist landholders protect and enhance high quality riparian and aquatic ecosystems across the Central Tablelands.
Funding for remnant woodland projects will assist landholders protect and restore native bushland with a focus on linking and enhancing habitat for threatened species.
Funding for farm management planning will provide landholders, land managers and rural employees the opportunity to develop a Farm Management Plan for any property located within the Central Tablelands LLS region.
"We are very pleased to be able to assist landholders improve their natural resources. Not only are there environmental benefits, there are also associated production benefits.
Farm productivity, more native plants and animals, richer soils, cleaner water, healthy trees and grasses are some of the reasons to improve biodiversity across the region. It benefits everyone!" said The Hon Mr Armstrong.
Financial support for this program is provided by the Caring for our Country & Clean Energy Futures Australian Government programs and Catchment Action NSW.
