Central Tablelands Chair, Ian Rogan
Ian is an advocate for rural NSW and the agricultural industry and is a highly-respected consultant with a strong understanding of agriculture.
He has a vision for the future to build confidence in ratepayers, investors and the community to deliver the best services possible.
Ian brings to the board a range of skills and experience including a strong commitment to advancing agricultural and other industries in the region while considering the careful management of natural resources. He has a background in rural and natural resource management, local government and agricultural consultancy.
He has a significant understanding of stakeholder consultation specialising in research, socio-economic analysis and report development having undertaken strategic plan development for Dairy Australia, Meat and Livestock Australia, University of NSW – School of Mining Engineering, Sheep Cooperative Research Centre, Regional Development Australia – Orana and NSW Department of Primary Industries.
Ian comes from a beef and dairy cattle farming family in northern NSW, he has an honours degree in Rural Science and has conducted applied research in animal genetics with published results recognised nationally and internationally. He has managed broad portfolios of on-farm research and development for regional and national organisations.
Currently, Ian and his family run a nursery and consulting firm from their hometown of Millthorpe. Ian is very passionate about the community of the Central Tablelands and has dedicated many years to being an active contributor to the improvement of Central NSW.
He previously held the position of acting Chair of Central Tablelands Local Land Services following the retirement of the inaugural Chair, Ian Armstrong, in February 2016.
