The Central Tablelands Local Land Services (LLS) region covers the tablelands from Oberon to Mudgee to Cowra.
Agriculturally, the region is highly diverse. Winter rainfall supports productive cropping systems. The most significant land use is grazing, followed by the production of broadacre crops. The region has increasing areas of fruit and vegetable production and viticulture.
Livestock production is also significant in the region, with sheep and cattle taking up the major share.
There are a number of pest animal species across the Central Tablelands LLS region, including foxes in the east, locusts in the west and pockets of rabbits right across the Central Tablelands. Reducing the impact of these pests is a priority for Central Tablelands LLS.
Central Tablelands LLS encourages sustainable production and environmental stewardship.
